On October 11, 2020, at the end of the 30th anniversary concert to the world premiere of “Xuan-Yuan Sword”, distributed by Tencent and SoftStar, the title “Producer Ivan Linn” and “Godmother of Video Game Music Yoko Shimomura” appeared together in the latest “Xuan-Yuan Sword VII” trailer. This is yet another successful project Linn has worked on since he founded Goldstones Studios in 2015. 

In 2019, Linn was appointed as the Music Director and Chief Conductor of Assassin’s Creed World Tour, distributed by Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest game developers. This show is a live music experience featuring an 80-piece orchestra, choir, and rock band. The premiere was successfully held at the Congress Palace in Paris in June of the same year followed by a global tour in Europe and North America.

In 2016, Linn became a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. During the early years of Goldstones Studios, Ivan Linn served as music producer and composer of the soundtrack to the motion picture “The Tenants Downstairs”.

Later, he received an invitation from V.K and served as the director of North America region for the TV series “Ice Fantasy”, broadcast by Hunan Satellite TV, to produce its original soundtrack. Other projects as a music producer include an upcoming TV series on Netflix, the film “Father to Son” and the album “Flow” by pop singer Winnie Hsin. 

Ivan Linn is also responsible for the production of soundtracks for major video game franchises including the “Final Fantasy” series (Square Enix) and “Kingdom Hearts” (Disney). In the Final Fantasy series, he’s worked on “Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII ” (Sony Music) and “Final Fantasy XV” as a solo pianist recorded for the soundtrack.

In 2015, Linn was invited to participate in the tour of the game “Legend of Zelda”, distributed by Nintendo, with tour venues in many American cities. The following year, Linn received the Zulalian Business and Art Award, and toured with “Capcom Live!” in the United States and China.

Between 2017-18, Linn was invited to be the concert pianist for the world tour “Kingdom Hearts”, distributed by Disney. The tour has traveled all over the world, including Hollywood’s Dolby Theater, New York’s United Palace Theater, Singapore’s Esplanade, Sydney’s Opera House, Bradesco Theater in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Auditorio BlackBerry in Mexico City and many more.

He began taking classical piano lessons at the age of 12, and shined on the music stage thereafter, winning the Ibra Music Awards in Sicily, Italy, the first prize of the 2010 Oslo Grieg International Piano Competition in Norway, the Oslo Prize (Prix d’Oslo) and the Special Prize for Best Interpretation of Romantic Music, which led him to debut at Carnegie Hall in New York and tour across the United States, Russia, Germany, Norway, Italy and other major European and American cities.

Later, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) invited Linn to make his debut in Paris at the annual International Cultural Diversity Festival (Festival International de la Diversité Culturelle). In 2012, he served as ICHOICE Art Ambassador. Ivan Linn won the Chimei Arts Award in 2013. His piano trio was awarded a bronze medal in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and 40th Anniversary Celebration in the same year. His group was the only piano trio presentation in the finals. 

In 2014, Ivan Linn was invited to the Tanglewood Music Center at the Boston Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Festival as a resident pianist. The legendary pianist Martha Argerich said excitedly after hearing Linn’s performance: “He has a strong musical expression: delicate and beautiful. I like his performance very much!”

During his stay in Taipei, he entered the Music Talent Bank organized by the Ministry of Culture four times. Ivan Linn won the first prize of the First Xingtian Temple Elite Tomorrow Star Piano Competition in 2000, and in the 13th Città di Barletta International Piano Competition in Italy in 2003. He also won the first prize in the piano category of the SinoPac Philharmonic Classical Elite Award in 2004 and the Most Potential Newcomer Award, the third place in the 2007 NTSO Piano Concerto Competition and the Audience Choice Award, and the 2008 Chimei Arts Award.

Ivan Linn has worked on developing many IPs, including “Final Fantasy”, “Legend of Zelda”, “Assassin’s Creed” and other projects. Linn led deals with Disney, Sony, Ubisoft, Tencent and other major companies in the entertainment and media fields.

After giving a public performance in Switzerland at the age of 4, Ivan Linn went to the Japanese Yamaha Music School. He attended the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. In 2011, with a full scholarship he was accepted at the New England Conservatory of Music. 

In 2015, Ivan Linn graduated from Yale University, during which he became a Steinway Artist. Ivan Linn has served as a lecturer at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Yale University. On the intersection of art and technology, he continues to use the power of innovation and humanities to bring an unprecedented new look to the industry.
